Channelling Larry (who remarked about the ads via email)...

One of my favorites so far is:

"Networking"

In this ad, "Mac" and "PC" are talking about how well they network, when a Japanese girl (aka "new Japanese Digital Camera") shows up and starts talking to the "Mac" in Japanese.

At the end, while "PC" is fumbling with Italian "Hello", she offhandedly asks "who is that over there?" I didn't catch the rest, but I did notice that she used informal japanese when asking it; like her and "Mac" are old friends (even though they just met) -- she'd probably only say it that way if she assumed her comment was private and wouldn't be understood by the "PC".

Researching this ad on Google for 1/2 sec. I found a more comprehensive translation that is even funnier:

DC: Ne, ne, ne, ... dare ano hito? Chotto otakuppoku nai? [Hey, hey, hey, [inaudible] who is that guy? He looks like a geek a bit, doesn't he?]

"Mac" responds "So. [yeah]" and they laugh.

It's impressive when Apple can carry the light-hearted tone of the commercial even through the foreign parts, let alone convey the underlying technical claim so intuitively.

Nice touch.
