"This American Life" from NPR is now a television show! And, for some reason, it's on Showtime. Graphic novelist extraordinaire, Chris Ware, lends his talents to the televisional telling of a tale of media madness in the 5th grade...
Not necessarily pointful, or lesson teaching, but a wonderfully told and illustrated thing-that-happened. Very "This American Life," and very Warey. It's amazing how he can make circles, all simple geometric shapes, actually, look so lonely and dejected. Looking forward to more Ware-ian interpretations. I hope they end up online as well, as I do not have Showtime. Boo.
Don't know Chris Ware's work? Please to pick up a copy of JIMMY CORRIGAN: THE SMARTEST KID ON EARTH. It is beautiful.
Keep on keepin on~
