Thru January 18 (Thurs).
The sweetly irresistible schoolgirl uniformed Japanese girl band-that-could story, LINDA LINDA LINDA (click here for Japanese site with Japanese trailer), plays at the Brattle! Also playing is the kind-of Chinese AMERICAN BEAUTY film (not nearly as extreme, or quite as elegant), RED DOORS, an indie semi autobiographic pic about a Chinese-American family growing up in the burbs around NYC. See them both if you can, but if you're caught with a gun to your head having to choose between the two for some terrible reason... Hrmm... I'd hafta say go with LINDA 3x. It's just super fun. =)
If anyone's interested in catching LINDA, and needs a partner for it, if the timing works out between the other movie opps, I'd be happy to see it again.
January 17 & 18 (Wed & Thurs).
The Animation Show hits the Somerville Theater in Davis. *NOT* the sick-n-twisted. Brought to you by the creators of KING OF THE HILL, OFFICE SPACE, and OH L'AMOUR (as well as other bitterfilms =). Do not miss it!
January 18 (Thurs).
THE MATRIX plays at the new ICA on Boston's waterfront. I thought it would be a great introduction to the new ICA, but so far I've only got my sister on board for this screening, and after seeing LINDA 3x, I'm tempted to wave her off THE MATRIX and direct her to go see that instead... Frack.
January 19 & 20 (Fri & Sat).
The Brattle's putting on midnight screenings of ROBOTECH: THE SHADOW CHRONICLES! Definite must-see for me.
And don't forget, on January 19, Al Gore keynote speaks at the Science and Society Conference at the Copley Westin!
Keep on keepin on~
* January 17, 2007. Frack. Registration for day 1 (which includes Al Gore's keynote speech) has been closed. How does one crash a Science and Society Conference? =)
