It's funny. I see the video, see that it's set in Japan, and I just don't question it. =)
Apparently it's a tricked-out 1-to-1 scale sculpture that's been featured at a couple of locations/events in Japan. Most recently in honor of the opening of the Shizouka Hobby Fair and the "30th anniversary of Gundam" (I thought the original series was older than that, go figure). That was in July 2010, and it was scheduled to come down at the end of January 2011 (nuts).
