For the local or near-Cantabrigians, specifically those who like their DVDs...
I'm a little late in reporting this, but the last time I was at the Cambridgeside Galleria near Kendall Square, the Suncoast Video store was running a going-out-of-business sale. Typically the DVD goods here are all marked up quite a bit beyond what you'd find in a half-dozen clicks of online shopping, but at 30% off, they come within a buck of most best online prices, and if you buy 4 or more new DVDs (apparently they have a used section), they take 40% off the total purchase. That'll put them within cents of, if not below, the best prices online. I tried to control my sale-sucker madness and limited myself to a handful of purchases...
THE FACULTY came to 8.99 from 14.99 sticker...
DONNIE DARKO (the original, which I prefer to the DC) also 8.99 from 14.99 sticker...
DEGRASSI JUNIOR HIGH season 3 was 23.99 from 39.99...
NEWS RADIO seasons 1&2 also 23.99 from 39.99...
Alas, no ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT, DEADWOOD, or OFFICE (empire or colonies), altho I did see FAWLTY TOWERS, SIX FEET UNDER, REMINGTON STEELE, and KNIGHT RIDER on the shelves. =)
Of course, pickins are gettin slimmer every day, but I don't know that shoppers typically hit Cambridgeside looking to purchase video/movies unless it's a gift emergency, y'know? And most people are probably gonna be tunnel-vision focused on BestBuy for that option anyhow...
...Which is probably why Suncoast is on its way out, eh?
I saw a few properties of note spread out on display in volume... EVIL DEAD 2 in the Libris Ex Mortis case, SEINFELD boxed sets, Speilberg's WAR OF THE WORLDS, assorted Red Sox/World Series vids, and, the back wall of anime was packed and had stacks of DVDs in front of it as well. I may pick up that EVIL DEAD 2 if I get back there soon. I've got a collector's edition in a slick tin case, but I think the Ex Mortis has some new/different features included. I'll hafta look that up.
The cashier said the store is gonna remain open until the end of March. Check it out for some cheap - well, cheapISH at least - impulse buys. Or, y'know, target stuff - go in there with your wishlist and Amazon or BestBuy prices and KNOW that you found a steal. And hey, you can drift into the Apple store after to sniff at the core duos, maybe get that belly button piercing you've been wanting at the Piercing Pagoda, and to reward yourself for not crying, get some heroin chicken teriyaki at the food court!
Baby, you got a stew goin'!
Keep on keepin on~

I *believe* that the Libris Ex Mortis (The Book...Of the Dead) edition of ED II may have one new feature, but the commentary is the same. Not really worth a huge expenditure of cash, but if it's cheap, then why not...
